Check what your router is using (WPA-2 is most common, but maybe you're using something else), and make sure your ipod is configured to connect with the same. Based on this discussion thread, it seems to be affecting iPhone 4S, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS, the iPads and even iPod touch users.
